The purpose of this website is to provide entertainment and information to you, our customer. I may gather information on this site directly, such as when you fill out an online form to provide me with your contact information. I may also gather indirect information by way of Internet log access records.
If you post a comment, it is stored here at this site. I do not share your login information with anyone else.
The “Word Verification” service is provided by Mollom (link is external) in my comment feature solely for the purpose of filtering out SPAM from comments. For more information, see their privacy policy at http://www.mollom.com (link is external).
The Skere9 Newsletter mailing list is managed by MailChimp (link is external). This is the MailChimp privacy policy as of the time of this writing (May 28, 2013) for any information you provide to them when you subscribe to the Skere9 newsletter (note: this verbiage is quoted verbatim from what their policy is toward me, so “your subcriber lists” are my subscriber lists, and that includes you if you subscribe):
Your subscriber lists are stored on a secure MailChimp server. We don’t, under any circumstances, sell your lists, contact people on your lists, market to people on your lists, steal your lists, or share your lists with any other party, unless it’s required by law. If someone on your list complains or contacts us, we may then contact that person. Only authorized employees have access to view Distribution Lists. You may export (download) your lists from MailChimp at any time, as long as we have a copy.
We’ll use and disclose the information in your Distribution Lists only for the reasons listed under Use of Your Personal Information, except the following. (In other words, we will not use and disclose the information in your Distribution Lists to):
- bill or collect money owed to us;
- send you system alert messages;
- communicate with you about your account; or
- send you informational and promotional content.
That’s the MailChimp privacy policy for your information you may choose to provide to them if you subscribe to the Skere9 Newsletter.
I may use cookies for the purpose of tracking your activity on this web site. I am using Google’s analytics tools to accomplish this goal. However, I do not share the results with anyone else.
In the event my site may ask for any sensitive data, such as financial information, social security numbers, etc., you will clearly understand if the site is doing this, and you will have the option of refusing to provide it.
Furthermore, any transmission of sensitive data is performed with Secure Socket Layer (SSL) and digital certificate verification, along with state of the art encryption. Your web browser will show this clearly with the non-broken “key” symbol.
